Position Summary:
We are seeking an Accounting Clerk with a focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) to join our team in Montreal. This role involves key aspects of financial processing and reconciliation, supporting both local and international operations.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Sales Invoicing: Prepare sales invoices for clients in Canada, the US, UK, and France, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Sales Tax Remittances: Manage and remit sales taxes for Canada and the US, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Accounts Payable & Expense Reports: Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Credit Card Transactions: Post company credit card transactions and perform reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple subsidiaries to maintain accurate cash records.
- Document Management: Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all processed transactions.
What Makes You a Strong Candidate:
- Education: DEC in Accounting (or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar accounting role, ideally within a multi-subsidiary, multi-currency setup.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Sage 50 (or similar accounting software); familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, data analysis, and complex functions.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt, especially as we move to NetSuite ERP.
- Language Skills: Written and Oral English and French. (The position requires regular interaction with colleagues, suppliers and customers based outside of Quebec, nationally and internationally).
