We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Thermo-Mechanical Simulation team. In this role, you will support the development and application of the SC03 software, a powerful tool for transient thermal and mechanical analysis of gas turbines. Your expertise in finite element (FE) analysis for structural engineering is highly desirable. Fortran programming experience is valuable and we also appreciate skills in OpenGL and C programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dive deep into intricate Fortran code for finite element analysis.
- Develop and optimize SC03 software modules for thermo-mechanical simulations.
- Perform transient thermal and mechanical analysis on test cases for gas turbine analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of software performance and capabilities.
- Analyze simulation results and provide actionable insights to improve design and performance.
- Provide mission-critical second line technical support to an expert user-base.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure robust and reliable simulations.
- Document and present findings to stakeholders and contribute to technical reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in thermo-mechanical simulations and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Proficiency in Fortran programming and software development.
- Experience with OpenGL and C programming is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with scripting and dev ops tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with the gas turbine industry is an advantage.
